Janmashtami is a sacred opportunity to celebrate the appearance of Krishna, the Supreme Personality of Godhead, and to remember His eternal relationship with His devotees. It is not only a festival to rejoice in His appearance, but also a time to deepen our own connection with Him through bhakti.
The most meaningful way to celebrate Janmashtami is through seva—offering our time, energy, talents and sincere devotion for Krishna’s pleasure. Every service, however small, becomes an offering of love when it is done with sincerity.
It is not that we serve Krishna because we already love Him. Rather, it is through sincere seva that love for Krishna awakens within our hearts.) **( beautiful words of Guru Maharaj that truly cleared meaning of seva to me )**
On this auspicious Janmashtami, let us therefore come forward to serve Krishna with humility and sincerity, knowing that every opportunity for seva is His mercy and a step closer to developing genuine love for Him.
