In the Bhagavad Gita, Lord Krishna explains that the mind has great power. If controlled, it becomes our best friend. If uncontrolled, it becomes our greatest enemy .
Bhagavad Gita 6.5 says:
“One must elevate oneself by one’s own mind, not degrade oneself. The mind is the friend of the conditioned soul, and his enemy as well.”
A controlled mind helps us make wise decisions. An uncontrolled mind drags us toward temporary pleasures and long-term suffering.
Lord Krishna explains this beautifully in Chapter 2, Verse 62–63:
“While contemplating the objects of the senses, a person develops attachment for them, and from such attachment lust develops, and from lust anger arises.”
It starts with uncontrolled thoughts and constant contemplation. Therefore, the first step is to protect and purify the mind
And make it a true soulful friend 🙏
